An Alternative

The first companion chapter in a story/art project I've been working on for months based around Danganronpa, and it's basically an AU story taking place without any despair incident to ruin the student's (mostly) peaceful school life. I know these "Celes wins a bet with Kirigiri" stories aren't very original, but I wanted to do my own spin on the concept. It should probably be obvious from this chapter that I’m a lousy chess player XD

I know my use of honorifics is a little inconsistent here and there, with Celestia calling her "Kirigiri" so much (in the original Japanese release, she adds the "-san" honorific while in the dub she just straight-up calls her Kyoko like everybody else). I mostly did that because it sounded better to me, but I have this headcanon where after some years together in the same class, Ludenberg later decided to drop the "-san" completely after getting to know her better (or just from wanting to annoy her). Kyouko doesn’t feel the same, hence her use of "Celes-san." As for Celestia using the word "moi," I happen to like her dub voice quite a bit. So her sprinkling bits of French into her dialogue felt fitting.
